How is Bitcoin market cap calculated?
The standard calculation is simple: Bitcoin price × circulating BTC supply. A higher price raises market cap even if no equivalent amount of fresh capital enters the market.
Market cap is therefore a comparative valuation measure, not a measure of money held in Bitcoin.
